A new album, a new tour – the beginning of a new era. 2025 was another milestone for the Antwerp-based band Triggerfinger, whose career now spans 25 years. Last autumn, just a few days after releasing their first new song since 2017, the tragic death of their iconic bassist Monsieur Paul shook the band. Paul had left the band in 2023 due to health reasons but remained a close friend and brother to Mario and Ruben. "Stars" was received with enthusiasm by both old and new fans and opened new doors. With a 25-date tour, the band returned to the international live stage – with great success, most shows sold out. While "Stars" still showed a clear connection to Triggerfinger's earlier sound, the second single "Come Clean" (released in January 2026) surprised fans and critics alike with a new sound and announced a change in the band's musical DNA. Before summer 2026, the band will release two more songs and prepare for their first extensive festival summer tour in a long time. But most notably, in September, a long-awaited new studio album will finally be released – the first since "Colossus" (2017) and thus also the first official album without Monsieur Paul. For the recordings, Ruben and Mario traveled to Los Angeles, where they were welcomed by Mitchell Froom. Froom is no stranger to Triggerfinger. He played a central role in the new recordings, encouraging Mario and Ruben to step out of their comfort zones, explore new compositional paths, and venture into the unknown without a clear goal. With the new album, Triggerfinger shows that they are back – stronger than ever – and proves that they are among the few true European rock bands that have endured trends and hypes. Live on stage, you can expect the familiar – but different. The outstanding musician Geoffrey Burton now stands on bass. He has already played with greats like Arno, Grace Jones, Iggy Pop, and the (deceased) Portuguese Fado singer Misia. Fun fact: Just like Monsieur Paul, Geoffrey is originally a brilliant guitarist – and brings his own unique approach to the bass. The new Triggerfinger album will be released via HUFTER Recordings / Sony Music Entertainment Benelux & Europe as well as via VERYCORDS in Paris for France.
