At least for us, Johnny Cash, the "Man in Black," is considered the quintessential country singer. But also in his American homeland and many parts of the world, the artist from Arkansas became an icon, an institution of entertainment music. For various reasons, not just because of his music. Johnny Cash experienced great love and triumphs as well as the deepest abysses throughout a full life. He mostly emerged strengthened and was even able to celebrate unexpected successes in the autumn of his life. Cash and June Carter accompanied each other throughout a turbulent life; they were married for 35 years. When June died in May 2003, Johnny followed her only four months later. The event at the Stadttheater Schaffhausen is dedicated to the life story of Johnny Cash, one of the greatest country icons. At the beginning of the evening, a preview of the highlights of the upcoming 2027/28 season is presented, followed by an aperitif for subscribers.
