Description

A legendary mountain separates a small village from the nearest town. People rarely cross to the other side of the mountain. The "villagers" and the "townspeople" hardly know each other and don't think much of one another. Sanna and Konrad live with their parents in the village. The young family is viewed with suspicion because the mother is a newcomer from the town. When the grandmother becomes seriously ill, the mother temporarily moves to the town. The children now have to cross the mountain ridge every time they want to see their mother. So, even in the middle of winter, Sanna and Konrad set out on their journey—without their father's accompaniment. On the way back to the village, they are caught by the beginning snowfall and get lost on the mountain. Only through their strong bond and Sanna's firm belief in the power of the miraculous mountain crystal do they survive the night in a glacier cave. The next day, they are rescued together by villagers and townspeople. Unity and solidarity overcome prejudice and hostility. Three actresses bring the story from back then to new life and show how relevant the tale still is after more than 150 years.
