Description
What a Baar amateur historian discovers shakes the community to its core: The contract that sealed the donation of the five Baar villages to the Kappel monastery in the 13th century is null and void from today's perspective. Therefore, the community would not have had to buy itself free from the monastery 500 years ago and today has a legitimate claim for a refund of the purchase price – in the form of money, buildings, or land. This demand is presented by the historian and three companions to the voters of Baar at an information event in the Sternmatt auditorium. But the motives of all involved are so different that the event completely gets out of hand.
In the comedy "Baar am Albis," all the arguments that led to the separation of the five Baar villages from the Kappel monastery 500 years ago come to the table. Only they are reversed, sharpened, and told from today's perspective – by characters drawn so realistically that they could almost live in the neighborhood. But fortunately, only almost.
