Description

The exhibition sheds light on the wolf as a symbol, myth and real presence in contemporary Swiss art. It shows how the wolf returns after a long absence, triggering fears, longings and conflicts.

Contemporary Swiss artists explore its meanings - ecologically, politically, culturally and emotionally. Fairy tales such as "Little Red Riding Hood" also shape our view of the animal.

"The Wolf in Contemporary Art" presents the wolf in its many roles: as a symbol of freedom, threat, natural power and myth. The artists represented include Chantal Demierre, Félicia Eisenring & Isabell Bullerschen, Michael Günzburger, Rochus Lussi, Andrea Nyffeler, Sophie Schmidt and others.
