A multisensory, historical, and initiatory exhibition, The Skirt of Absinthe invites you to discover the work of contemporary and regional artists inspired by the Belle Époque and the prohibition of Absinthe. The Skirt of Absinthe is a multisensory, historical, and initiatory exhibition combining contemporary works from a collective of twelve artists and artisans from Nord-Vaud, Neuchâtel, and Valais. Inspired by the regional heritage related to absinthe, the artists stage the Belle Époque (late 19th century – 1914), the prohibition of the Green Fairy (1908-2005), as well as its legalization twenty years ago. Through the sixty-eight works that make up the exhibition, frills, mysteries, and creations transport you to a parallel universe that questions our imagination.
