Best of Sam Singers "The Sam Singers" is the leading Close Harmony ensemble from Switzerland, dedicated to swinging melodies and unforgettable hits from the first half of the 20th century. "Close Harmony" is the form of tightly blended voices: a soft vocal sound with jazzy harmonies. The Sam Singers have been pursuing the original tone of early hits for many years, primarily focusing on excellent sound quality. Their precise, warm sound revives the ambiance of those times. Whether it's the evergreen hits of Manhattan Transfer, Chordettes, King Sisters, Andrews Sisters, the Swiss export hit trio Geschwister Schmid, or the German vocal group Comedian Harmonists; the four-part vocal group touches its audience with charming authenticity. Their moderated shows are complemented by anecdotes about the music and its background, with historical documents, choreographies, and matching outfits. Besides their concert, TV, and festival appearances — including performances with Pepe Lienhard Big Band, Atlantis Big Band, Argovia Philharmonic, or the Celebration Pop Orchestra at KKL — the Sam Singers also regularly perform in their combo formation for private or corporate events. The existing program "Holiday in Switzerland" (hits by Caterina Valente, Vico Torriani, Paola, etc.) and the annual Christmas program "Swinging Xmas" are joined by the anniversary program "Come fly with me" and the new nostalgia show "Sentimental Journey." With the new program, the Sam Singers move closer in time and increasingly feature music from the 1950s. They still draw inspiration from the immortal originals of this golden age of entertainment music. Titles like "Mr. Sandman," "Take the A-train," "Straighten up and fly right," "Quizas, quizas, quizas," band adaptations of hits from the economic miracle era, and Doris Day's No.1 hit "Sentimental Journey." In addition to their typical mix of German, Swiss, and American titles, this time some from South America are included. A hip swing towards jazz, but still committed to nostalgia. For this concert, the Sam Singers compile a "Best-of" from their extensive repertoire.
