The song selection consists of songs from their own pen and country-folk-Americana cover versions with wonderful vocal harmonies in the style of the Avett Brothers, Gillian Welch and Lacey Jane Dalton, rewritten specifically for the duo. Marc Gerber is one of the most sought-after guitarists in Switzerland and has played, among others, as a guest musician with the Krüger Brothers. Highlights of Marc Gerber's career certainly include his involvement in Polo Hofer's band (2009-2015). Together with Schwyzerörgeler Daniel Thürler and bassist Alfred Mosimann, Gerber traveled through the USA and recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis. At the invitation of the Krüger Brothers, the trio played a concert to close the "Carolina in The Fall Festival" in Wilkesboro, North Carolina/USA. This magical performance was repeated in 2023. Jsabelle Strauss trained as a florist and gardener. Since 1985, she has sung in various cover formations such as ‘Fishing for Compliments’, ‘HotIce’, ‘Skinny Peppers’, in the genres of folk, rock, and blues. Currently, she is musically active with her life partner Marc Gerber, with the duo The Quiet Rebels and the band Markus Aerni & Sweet Trouble, influenced by country, folk, and Americana. Markus Aerni describes Jsa on his homepage as: Smooth as silk, sweet as honey. The duo is blessed with a long-standing friendship with the Krüger Brothers and valuable coaching from Uwe Krüger. Influence also comes from good friend and songwriter Tia Sillers from Nashville, who also supports Markus Aerni & Sweet Trouble in songwriting.
