The Birth of Kitaro: Mystery of GeGeGe

Description

This film by Go Koga delves into the origin story of the legendary Yokai boy, set against a haunting post-war Japanese backdrop where spirits and humans coexist in eerie proximity. Unlike typical children's tales, it presents a mature, sometimes disturbing narrative about birth, death, and the supernatural, providing a fresh and darker perspective on a cultural icon. The event is part of the Animittwoch series, showcasing curated anime films every first Wednesday of the month at Cinema Luna.
