Textiles. Helen Dahm and Franziska Gehr

Description

The work of Helen Dahm is not limited to painting and printmaking. The current exhibition features textile works. Some female artists also made a name for themselves with textile works in the last century and maintained the craft, not least for financial reasons.

Together with Helen Dahm, woven works by the textile artist Franziska Gehr are shown. As the daughter of Ferdinand Gehr, she wove many of his designs. Such a work will be on display in the exhibition. The other woven wall hangings were designed and executed by Franziska Gehr.

In the textile workshop specially designed for this exhibition, you have the opportunity to get active yourself. There is plenty of material available for knitting, embroidery, sewing, or weaving.

General Information

The exhibition at the local museum and Helen Dahm Museum in Oetwil am See shows textile works by the artists Helen Dahm and Franziska Gehr. Both woven wall hangings and designs are presented. Visitors have the opportunity to become active themselves in a specially set up textile workshop.
