French Horn - Mariantonia Riezu and Alexandre Zanetta Accompaniment - Camille de Nantes Originally used by the nobility as a hunting horn, the French horn found its way into the concert halls of the great opera houses during the Baroque period and was widely used from the Classical through the Romantic periods. In the early 20th century, it was gradually supplanted by the modern valve horn, as we know it today in wind ensembles and symphony orchestras. Thanks to historically informed performance practice, it is now experiencing a revival. Enjoy the colorful sounds of this beautiful, simple instrument!
