Autumn will bring a unique concert connection of three Czech modern metal bands united by the word Sun in their names. SUNFEST 2026 will offer two stops full of hard riffs, atmosphere, emotions, and energy from the bands Halo of the Sun, Bite the Sun, and Dream of the Sun. SUNFEST is not a classic festival in the traditional sense. It is a gathering of like-minded bands that are connected not only by the symbolism of the sun in their names but also by a shared emphasis on a modern approach to heavy music, a distinctive atmosphere, and a personal approach to creation. ☀️𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍​(alternative rock/metal) The Prague-based Dream of the Sun builds on a melancholic atmosphere, personal lyrics, and energy. Their music combines catchy choruses with heavy passages and merges influences from the modern metal scene working with electronics and atmosphere with the energy and straightforwardness of old-school nu-metal. ☀️𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐎 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍 (progressive metalcore/djent) The Kladno band Halo of the Sun has established a strong place in the domestic progressive metalcore scene over the past few years. Their work combines technical precision, melodic passages, and modern production. At the beginning of 2026, they released the EP Hyperconnected, which thematically reflects the loss of identity, the pressure of the digital world, and inner conflicts. ☀️𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐍 (alternative metalcore) The Brno-based Bite the Sun brings a combination of atmospheric metalcore, distinctive melodies, and heavy riffs. Their concerts are known for their emphasis on the audiovisual aspect and cinematic atmosphere, supported by projections and a well-crafted show. The band's motto 'Drop tunings, not bombs' perfectly captures their approach to music.
