You are invited to a summit. You are invited to a play called SUMMIT. You know, of course, that these are not the same thing. You are well aware of the boundaries between reality and fiction. You enjoy seeing reality in a way that you have not seen it before. That is why you choose theatre. However, we cannot promise you that you will always see fiction. Theater lives from the audience's willingness to believe in something that is clearly fiction. From this willingness and the power of human imagination, theatre draws its ability to transcend the boundaries of reality. Together, the audience and creators can envision a different future, the impact of which extends far beyond the walls of the theatre. «SUMMIT» explores the boundaries between fact and fiction, belief and doubt, beauty and horror. What happens when words seem to be true, even though they are not quite? When one desperately wants to believe something, even though one knows better? With «SUMMIT», Ontroerend Goed questions the interpretative power of our language and our insatiable desire for meaning. A theatre performance that does not ask us to decide what is real, but rather invites us to dare to believe in what we can imagine.
