A stage by the lake – full of emotions, music, culture, and tradition From July 31 to September 20, Summer in Morcote 2026 invites you to experience one of Switzerland's most beautiful villages from its liveliest side. The summer event series transforms Morcote into an open-air stage under the sky, offering music, cinema, culture, culinary experiences, family activities, and charitable events – set against the unique backdrop of Ceresio. The opening features a special novelty: the Swiss National Day is celebrated over two days for the first time. On Friday, July 31, Piazza Granda will be dedicated to Jazz in Piazza with Nicolò Ricci Organ Trio, street food, and DJ sets. On Saturday, August 1, the traditional Federal Celebration will follow with musical aperitif, regional specialties, the official speech, the Swiss Psalm, the concert of Sunny Boys, and a subsequent party with DJ Poma. On Sunday, August 9, the Ceresio Estate festival will stop in Morcote for its 50th anniversary. The program includes the performance "Oltre il confine, tra Classico e Pop" by the vocal group Rebel Bit – in the impressive panoramic setting of Spazio Garavello 7. On Saturday, August 22, the fourth edition of Memorial Ciacio Poma will take place – a day full of sports, socializing, and music with a football tournament, barbecue, festival food, and entertainment. From August 27 to 29, the popular open-air cinema returns. Three special film evenings await the audience: the silent film concert "…senza parole!" with Pel di carota and live music, the Ticino dialect version of Manche mögen's heiss (Düü Testimoni Scomod), and a tribute to Sergio Maspoli with the comedy Quattro bücer e 'na gazösa, a classic of Ticino folk culture. September also holds many highlights. On September 5, the traditional Festa di Fine Estate will take place with a field mass, music, barbecue, and children's program. On September 12, Un Mondo Creativo, a charity event with an arts and crafts market, international cuisine, live music, and entertainment for the whole family, will follow. On the same day, Incontri Musicali will host the concert Le Labyrinthe d'Arianne at the church of Sant'Antonio Abate. On September 27, the picturesque Parco Scherrer will host writer Andrea Vitali, who will speak about his latest novel as part of the literature series Scritture al Parco with Andrea Fazioli. Throughout the summer, free guided tours of Parco Scherrer in Italian and German are also offered. With the new experiences of Tesori del Ticino, visitors can also discover Morcote in a playful way – either with the treasure hunt Il Percorso Incompiuto in Parco Scherrer or with Messaggeri di Morcote, an exciting Escape City through the alleys of the historic town center. Another important part of Summer in Morcote is the collaboration with Move for Charity. During events at Spazio Garavello 7, the Panorama-Rooftop-Bar is operated by volunteers from the organization. All proceeds from the beverage sales go to the charity projects of the organization.
