Description

The salon concludes Liedfest Zürich 2026: Storm and Coercion. Here, we have the opportunity to discuss the themes artistically illuminated during the festival. The focus is on the relationship between music and society: How do composers and performers engage musically with the political storms of their time? What role does the song repertoire play as a trigger and medium for social debates? And: Does this influence how we listen to and enjoy music? These and other questions are addressed in two keynote lectures from historical and current perspectives – as an invitation to open discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. After the salon, we want to end the festival around 5:30 PM with a joint aperitif.
