32 Sonatas, 8 evenings, One pianist
In eight concerts, all 32 piano sonatas will be performed – a musical universe full of drama, poetry, wit, and revolutionary ideas. Those who experience these works encounter Beethoven not as a monument, but as a composer whose music still electrifies today.

4. STURM & ABSCHIED
A departure into new worlds.
Old forms are no longer sufficient. Beethoven begins to experiment and tells stories full of drama, longing, and farewell. With the mysterious magic of the "Storm Sonata" and the highly emotional stations of "Les Adieux," he leaves the classical corset and opens the door to his late work.

Martin Nöbauer, piano

Martin Nöbauer, an Austrian pianist, already performed in Chur in the 2026 season in a highly acclaimed and sold-out concert. He completely delighted the audience and returns to the Alpine city with the Beethoven cycle in a spectacular manner. Martin performs on modern and historical instruments. He was a finalist at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw 2023, which resulted in a Chopin Institute CD with recordings from the competition. He has won several major prizes, including Classic on Danube (Vienna) and the Hildegard Maschmann Foundation Competition (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna). Other successes include Musica Antiqua Brugge, Mozarteum Summer Festival, Musica Juventutis, and Fortepiano Plus Schloss Kremsegg. Together with Elisabeth Leonskaja, he performed at the Stars and Rising Stars Festival in Munich; concerts also took him to Linz, Graz, St. Florian, Mondsee, and Dubai Opera. Recital at Chopin House Żelazowa Wola, upcoming CD "Chanter avec les doigts" (Chopin) at Gramola, debuts at the Unione Musicale in Turin, and "Chopin and his Europe" in Warsaw.

Education: Linz (Anton Bruckner Private University), currently piano with Pavel Gililov (Mozarteum Salzburg); further influences at Hammerklavier, Imola, Aspen, and also through the Music Academy in Liechtenstein in their Imperial Program.

The Chur Concert Society presents the concert series "Beethoven 32," in which all 32 of Beethoven's piano sonatas are performed over eight evenings. In the concert "STURM & ABSCHIED," pianist Martin Nöbauer will interpret works such as the "Storm Sonata" and "Les Adieux".
