A new production from Studio SEN under the direction of Kateřina Šobáňová. Fragments of personal stories – on the border of dream, fiction, and reality – return in memories, remain in the body, and come alive again in the small movements of everyday life. The Studio SEN ensemble brings an exceptional format of physical theater to the stage. Without words, they explore human closeness, memory, and shared experience. This original production directed by Kateřina Šobáňová presents the Studio SEN ensemble as you have never seen it before. The performers confidently shed theatrical masks and learned roles. Through touch, movement, and their pure presence, they allow fragments of their own life experiences to speak fully. The body becomes both a chronicle and a laboratory, and the Studio SEN ensemble clearly demonstrates that physical theater is certainly not just the privilege of the young. In the production (K)roky, do not expect any traditional story. The body takes center stage. An ordinary touch becomes a universal language that reliably erases any age barriers and opens up space for pure, immediate sharing. The performers do not need to play complex roles – they stand on stage only with their pure presence, which itself tells the strongest story. The creative team led by director Kateřina Šobáňová takes the audience on a fascinating journey. The real personal experiences of the performers are constantly transformed, rearranged, and at times deliberately turned upside down. The boundary between what is pure truth and what constitutes theatrical autofiction remains thrillingly blurred throughout. You enter a space that directly invites you to do one thing: let go of the need to rationally understand everything right away. You will do much better if you simply allow yourself to be freely carried away by image, sound, and movement. There are theaters that invite seniors for backstage tours. In the 2017/2018 season, the SENior ensemble was born from a dramatic course for those aged 50+, now known as Studio SEN. Its members annually prepare a new production under the guidance of professional creative teams – with full commitment and the same artistic demands as for the main titles in the repertoire.
