Strawberry Guy live at EXIL in Zurich. When Alex Stephens (alias Strawberry Guy) released his debut single independently in 2018, he did so purely out of love for songwriting. What he didn't expect were millions of streams and an enthusiastic worldwide fanbase. As a one-man impressionist painting majestic soundscapes, Strawberry Guy combines honest lyrics with lush arrangements to create new emotional worlds. Inspired by Romantic composers or Debussy, Ravel, and other classical artists of the 19th century, his wonderland moves like a Monet painting, where arpeggios dance between shimmering meadows of dynamic contrasts and dramatic key changes. Reflecting the influence of nature on emotions, as seen in songwriters of the 70s or the fantastic soundtracks accompanying lively scenes in Studio Ghibli's Japanese animations and video games, the landscape takes center stage. Monet's picturesque 'Meadow in Giverny' adorns the album cover – perhaps a memory of the rural views of the Welsh landscape through the window of his childhood home.
