STRATA Exhibition in the Castle Garden

Description

The joint exhibition of Jan Alex Jindrák and Aleš Hvízdal is currently taking place in the Renaissance garden of Kratochvíle Castle. The title refers to the principle of layering that permeates the entire exhibition — through material, space, time, and meaning. The garden is not a backdrop but an active part of the installation: the works enter it and simultaneously transform it. Five stone spheres are placed in the garden — three made of Carrara marble and two of onyx. Four can be found in the axes and vistas of the garden, while the fifth rests on the water's surface. During the shaping of the stone into a sphere, part of the surface remains raw — a fragment that occurs by chance and is intentionally left. Its morphology is transferred to the outline of the stainless steel base: a formal communication arises between the stone and the stainless steel. The polished stainless steel behaves like a surface — reflecting the sky, vegetation, and the architecture of the castle, while the mass of the stone gains an illusion of lightness. JAN ALEX JINDRÁK IS A MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST OPERATING AT THE INTERSECTION OF FINE ART, TECHNOLOGY, AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION. HE WORKS WITH CGI, LIGHT, IMAGE, AND SOUND — CREATING INSTALLATIONS, PROJECTIONS, AND AUDIOVISUAL ENVIRONMENTS THAT COMBINE ARTISTIC PRECISION WITH CLEAR STRUCTURE. HIS WORK IS BASED ON A DISTINCTIVE STYLE, ATTENTION TO DETAIL, AND THE ABILITY TO THINK IN BROADER CONTEXTS. AI PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN HIS CURRENT WORK, WHICH HE DEVELOPS AS A NEW TOOL FOR VISUAL THINKING AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSION. HIS STUDIO MODIFIED. STUDIO FUNCTIONS AS AN EXPANDED PLATFORM FOR REALIZING COMPLEX PROJECTS — FROM CONCEPT TO FINAL OUTPUT. IT IS ALSO A SPACE FOR CREATIVITY AND DEVELOPMENT, WHERE ART, TECHNOLOGY, AND SYSTEMATIC WORK WITH CONTENT MEET. MODIFIED. STUDIO COLLABORATES WITH GLOBAL BRANDS, CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS, AND FESTIVALS. EACH PROJECT IS TAILORED WITH A FOCUS ON QUALITY, CONTEXT, AND DISTINCTIVE ARTISTIC EXPRESSION. ALEŠ HVÍZDAL IS A SCULPTOR, ARTIST, AND RESEARCHER — A CURIOUS PERSON. INITIALLY, HE EXPLORED WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH WOOD AT THE SUPŠ IN ŽIŽKOV SQUARE. THEN HE TRAVELED TO LITOMYŠL TO STUDY STONE RESTORATION TO LEARN HOW TO CARE FOR HISTORY. THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR HIM, SO HE ENROLLED AT THE PRAGUE UMPRUM IN THE SUPERMEDIA STUDIO TO DISCOVER WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. WITH FEDERICO DÍAZ, HE EXPLORED WHY ROBOTS ARE HERE AND WHAT THEY NEED TO WORK. THIS INTEREST STILL HOLDS HIM. AT THE KLOKNER INSTITUTE OF CTU, HE DISCOVERS WHAT A ROBOT WANTS, WHAT CONCRETE IS, AND HOW TO ENGAGE THEM IN COLLABORATION. HE LIVES BETWEEN PRAGUE AND CARRARA WITH HIS WIFE VANDA AND DAUGHTER, WHERE HE EXPLORES STONE AND LIFE. HE IS FASCINATED BY EVERYTHING THAT FLOWS AND CREATES — WATER IN FOUNTAINS AND HARDENING CONCRETE BIRTHING ARCHITECTURE AND SCULPTURES.
