The 1st prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2025 presents himself in Lucerne: With Nikola Meeuwsen, the first Dutch winner of the renowned Belgian competition can be experienced in a Steinway Prizewinner Concert at the Festival Strings Lucerne. The young pianist, who made the international music world take notice with his extraordinary musicality and technical brilliance, gives his Lucerne debut. For his first appearance in Lucerne, Nikola Meeuwsen has put together a program with some gems of the piano repertoire. Mendelssohn's Variations sérieuses combine masterful form with virtuosic ingenuity. A special highlight is the version of Bach's famous Chaconne arranged for the left hand by Brahms – a fascinating encounter of two musical geniuses. Finally, Schubert's four Impromptus op. 90 sound works full of poetry, depth, and expressiveness. A concert that not only unites central masterpieces of piano literature but also offers the opportunity to experience one of the most promising young pianists at the beginning of an international career.
