Description

About 40 singers aged 17 to 21 sing in Vivace, and about 50 young people aged 21 to 26 sing in ATempo!.
The choirs rehearse once a week, and some have been singing together here since their first year of school. The repertoire, which is expanded every year, is presented at various concerts in and around Basel. Participation in the Swiss Children's and Youth Choir Festival (SKJF) and the European Youth Choir Festival (EJCF) are also highlights of the choir year.
The repertoire includes literature from the folk song heritage of Switzerland and other countries, music from the popular genre as well as short classical works and vocal experiments of all kinds. The youth choirs are part of the choir school of the Basel Music School, Music Academy, which includes 10 choirs for children, youth, and young adults. All choirs are led in team teaching by Maria Laschinger with Regina Hui or Beat Vögele.
