2:00 PM - 4:30 PM at the Salseros de hoy hall (Vernier)
Nothing beats Shetland dances for fun and sharing a moment of collective energy!
No prior training is necessary: this rhythmic and jubilant initiation is open to all.
Musicians will guide participants step by step, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
This workshop will deepen the close connection between music and dance in the tradition of the Shetland Islands. Led by Martha Thomson, a Shetland musician and dancer, member of the female folk group Herkja, it will be accompanied by Maurice Henderson and the musicians of Haltadans.
Finally, on Saturday evening, a Shetland session will take place at the Pickwick pub. Workshop participants can join at certain moments. The evening will also include a dance party.
