Description
When it comes to high-quality intercultural music, Ssassa immediately comes to mind: Since 1995, the group founded by Christian Fotsch has given over 6,100 public concerts at festivals, neighborhood celebrations, village events, and schools, in ensembles ranging from two to 24 musicians, performing traditional Romani music, Balkan pop, flamenco, and songs in Serbian, Romani, Macedonian, Greek, Spanish, Arabic, and other languages.
The group’s fiery music clearly expresses their direct connection to these cultures, which they have cultivated through numerous journeys to the most remote corners of Europe and Turkey. The musicians not only explore ancient, traditional music but also incorporate ideas from modern music.
Ssassa will perform at the Kulturort Höfli 7 in Schaffhausen-Herblingen as a trio featuring Christian Fotsch, Kadir Erdogan, and Denis Zekirov.
The concert is also suitable for children. Admission is free; donations are welcome.
