Then Born in 1946 south of Naples, Raffaele Ferraro emigrated to Switzerland at the age of 26 and has been living with his family in Flawil since 1999. Even as a child, he felt while looking at pictures and drawings, "I want to be able to do that too." He began tracing portraits from photographs, copied pictures of the Pope, relatives, and acquaintances for aunts and his grandmother. Today Since then, it has been a long journey. Today he paints what he observes, whether in the here and now or in memories of the past. Capturing the colors and light of the south on a watercolor sheet; experimenting with how best to achieve this. Capturing people and places he encounters on his travels with a few strokes and later elaborating on them, giving them expression and his own interpretation. Thus, Raffaele Ferraro is constantly searching for traces, knowing how to leave some behind. Vernissage The exhibition at Galerie Fafou shows current works as well as those from past decades.
