In 2026, the municipality of Icogne honors its past. It has commissioned historian Martin Bagnoud to create a temporary exhibition about its history, which will be on display from May 3, 2026, to October 31, 2026, in the streets of the village. "Souviens-toi, Icogne" invites the local population and passing visitors to rediscover Icogne through 9 panels that are particularly representative of its thousand-year history, along with several historical testimonies (available on the municipality's website). Starting from the chapel, the exhibition's path forms a loop of about 15 minutes that can be walked. The exhibition addresses not only the fate of a mountain village but also the formation of memories shaped by individual and collective recollections. It emphasizes the need to give a voice to topics such as the environment and the washerwomen. The exhibition is illustrated with photographs and archival documents, enhances the heritage of the municipality, and gives shape to its territory through the whispers of those who have remained there.
