"Sottopelle" – Nag Arnoldi Exhibition

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the artist's death (1928-2017), today considered the most famous Tessinian sculptor in the world, this exhibition is the third major posthumous retrospective dedicated to him. Born as a true declaration of esteem and affection from the Municipality of Bioggio, "Sottopelle" aims to be a delicate cameo placed on a monumental work. Through a selection of about forty works (paintings, graphic arts, and sculptures), the exhibition's journey aims to highlight the intimate and profound aspects of Arnoldi's work which, at first glance, may escape the viewer's attention. From pictorial beginnings influenced by the masters of the Lugano region to the famous sculptures inspired by pre-Columbian civilizations and his most emblematic themes (horses, bulls, warriors, myths), the exhibition reveals the expressive, dramatic, and emotional imprint of an absolute master.
