The saying "to have something on the notched stick" is taken literally in this year's special exhibition! The local museum Habkern presents a fascinating selection of notched sticks from all over Switzerland and shows their diverse uses as wooden documents. Known under names like Beilen or Tesseln, they were used for centuries to control alpine rights, milk accounts, farming tasks, water usage, as well as registers or receipts. The exhibition offers a rare insight into the collection of the Alpine Museum in Bern – an opportunity not to be missed.
