Description
Marina and Audrey are sisters who haven't seen each other in years. When one bursts into the other's workplace, words and emotions flood out: childhood grudges, past wounds, and current anger cascade forth. Both are cruel, pushing boundaries and throwing what they have in their hearts at each other. To vent, of course, but also, perhaps, to restore the bond and keep each other close for a little longer.Through writing that is as deafening as it is precise, Pascal Rambert manages to express the ambivalence of the sisterly bond: a place of confrontation and reconciliation, the dialogue swells and stretches until it fills the entire space. Placing the search for rhythm at the heart of her approach, Anne Schwaller extends the author's work and dissects on stage the connection that links the two sisters, no matter what happens. As a true conductor, she works the lines by ear, shaping the voices of actresses Marie Druc and Caroline Gasser in search of the right breath, intonations, and tempo. Silences. Because not everything is said through words: their absence is also central, weaving a silent dialogue into a universal narrative.
