The new program! A tribute to Funk, Disco, R&B. This evening explores the legacy of the great disco, funk, and soul music shaped by female voices. Throughout the decades, Fabienne Louves, Freda Goodlett, Nyssina/Tyssa, and Alina Amuri ignite a fireworks display of milestones, world hits, and treasures worth rediscovering. What path did the soul singers of the past pave, and where did their boundless energy flow, which initially drew directly from gospel music? With what trends, fashions, and upheavals have they set standards to this day? It quickly becomes clear why songs like “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” “I Will Survive,” or “I Can’t Stand The Rain” have lost none of their former brilliance and dance power, shining even brighter under the Rigiblick stage lights than before.
