Two love songs by Richard Strauss – "Morgen" and "Allerseelen" – frame the program, in which Simon Höfele sings his trumpet with lyrical warmth and tuneful elegance. Between these two emotional poles, Haydn's cheerful-virtuoso Symphony No. 7 "Le Midi" and his famous Trumpet Concerto open a classical dialogue between light, sound, and form. Beethoven's "Pastorale" appears in a fascinating, transparent, and celebrated arrangement from 1810, illuminated by CHAARTS with chamber-music clarity.
