Simon Enzler is “zmetztinne.” Too old to still be considered a newcomer, too young to already be a veteran, he stands at a pivotal point in his life. He’s turning 50. And because he’s been on stage since he was a mere 15-year-old, he now looks back on three and a half decades as an attentive observer and an eloquent regular at the local bar.
How does he see himself, his profession, and the world around him? How does one deal with the signs of fading youth and worsening eyesight? How does one stay the course in the whitewater of the present? How much future is left? No one knows. - Enzler rows. And has been doing so for years. But that’s exactly what gives him confidence. Because even though a rower inevitably looks backward, he’s still moving forward.
