Description
The seventh edition of the cross-border music festival Silberbauerovo hudební Podyjí commemorates the significant builder of baroque organs, Josef Silberbauer, who worked in the Podyjí and Thayatal regions. The festival connects the Czech and Austrian borderlands and brings classical music concerts to historic churches and other interesting locations on both sides of the border. One of the concerts will feature Dvořák's Mass in D major on the Czech Statehood Day at 6 PM, which will be performed at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Wenceslas in the Louka Monastery in Znojmo. The so-called 'Lužanská Mass' was originally composed by Antonín Dvořák for the consecration of the castle chapel in Lužany. During the festival, it will be presented in a more intimate version with organ accompaniment. Along with soloists Ivana Pavlů, Ivana Kružíková, Jan Marek Hájek, and Jan Kovačič, cellist Josef Klíč, and organist Kateřina Málková, the Gaudeamus Brno Choir, led by conductor Daša Karasová, will perform. Admission is voluntary. FB event https://www.hudebnipodyji.eu/koncerty/2026-09-28-znojmo-louka/Highlights
