Nevertheless, it is often only marginally addressed in midwifery work, whether due to uncertainty, taboo, or lack of time. These two training days aim to support midwives in competently and empathetically accompanying parents when it comes to changes, challenges, and opportunities in their sexuality. Content - Definitions and dimensions of sexuality - Psychosexual development of humans from birth to death - Sexuality in different life phases, focus: parenthood - Proactive addressing of sexuality - Dynamics of parenthood and sexuality, influencing biopsychosocial aspects, numbers and facts - Update: contraception after birth - Communication and counseling tools Prerequisites - Midwife FH or HF - other professionals FH or HF - Understanding of professional articles in English - Usually 2 years of professional experience - Access to the practical field Learning objectives Graduates - have up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge about sexuality in the context of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenthood - deepen their theoretical knowledge of facts and concerns in the context of sexuality and parenthood, and know influencing biopsychosocial connections - reflect on their role as midwife and contact person - expand their competencies and scope of action in the context of sexuality and parenthood Further options: This training course can be credited towards the continuing education module Birth care by the midwife.
