Description
On the 11th Swiss Castles Day, more than 30 castles and fortresses throughout Switzerland will open their doors—featuring exciting attractions centered on the theme of travel. Wildegg Castle will offer exciting insights into an era of new beginnings—when steamships, railroads, carriages, early automobiles, and even the bicycle opened up new freedoms—with the lecture “Traveling in the Belle Époque” at 11:00 a. m., 2:00 p. m., and 4:00 p. m. Guided tours of the Baroque garden take place at 1:00 p. m. and 3:00 p. m. In the living museum, former castle residents in “talking portraits” invite visitors on an entertaining journey of discovery through the castle. Children can dress up as knights and damsels in the old castle barn, set the table in the children’s castle, or saddle their wooden horse in the stable.
