schön&gut // Under the open sky

Description

Only once every 50 years is the open-air play "Die Blutbuche" performed in Grosshöchstetten, and only on one evening, because at the end of the play, the tree is cut down. But director Frau Gut soon reaches her limits, because Gemeindepräsident Kellenberger doesn't listen to anyone, the extras Hans and Heiri say a lot, but always the wrong thing, and Herrn Schön is indifferent to the old traditions. In other words: everyone rides and talks past each other. When Schön, in a wild dispute over interpretation, freedom, and democracy, resorts to a radical measure, much more than a theater play is at stake... The seventh act by schön&gut once again brings witty satire, boundless imagination, wordplay, singing, and flying role changes. And perhaps at the end, a completely new story. schön&gut are Anna-Katharina Rickert and Ralf Schlatter. Since 2003, they have been performing their poetic and political cabaret on small stages in German-speaking Switzerland. In 2004, they received the Salzburger Stier for their work, in 2014 the Swiss Cabaret Prize Cornichon, and in 2017 the Swiss Small Arts Prize.
