schön&gut - Under the Open Sky

Description

Only once every 50 years is the open-air play «Die Blutbuche» performed in Grosshöchstetten, and only on a single evening, because at the end of the play the tree is cut down. The theater fever takes over the entire village. But director Frau Gut soon reaches her limits, because municipal president Kellenberger – in the role of the freedom hero Wüthrich – refuses to be told what to do, and Mr. Schön – as Vogt Hünigwald – is not interested in rehashing old traditions anyway. In other words: everyone rides and talks past each other. When Schön, in a wild dispute over interpretation, freedom, and democracy, resorts to a radical measure, much more than just a play is at stake.
