The Swiss trio led by Andi Schnellmann (bass), Manuel Troller (guitar), and David Meier (drums) plays uncompromising music, somewhere between modern composition, minimal music, psychedelic, and raw rock. Their concerts are considered an experience that cannot be simply sat through—precise, controlled, yet raw. After years of extensive touring, Schnellertollermeier returns with a new double LP: "Shadow Web" marks the beginning of a new chapter in the band's 20-year history. This ambiguity and permeability come as a surprise after the immediate directness of their recent releases: the new album radiates clarity, in every fiber, in every circular movement—and yet leaves many things open. On "Shadow Web," the present circulates, expanding oscillatingly. Schnellertollermeier counter the brutality, coldness, and the strained clarity of our world situation with a pulsating fabric of sound made of radiant warmth and improvisational playfulness. "Shadow Web" does not proclaim answers; it allows ambiguities, opens new possibilities, and creates space for contemplation. It continuously plunges into depth—paradoxically, this results in a thermal upward energy over the course of the four long tracks. The Swiss trio has secured a firm place on international festival stages with their genre-breaking work and highly precise, powerful, and transcendental live concerts: from the FIMAV Festival for contemporary music in Victoriaville, through the renowned avant-garde club SuperDeluxe in Tokyo, to the Haldern Pop Festival in Germany, from Europe to South America, China, Japan, Canada, USA, or India—always in search of maximum intensity. Even in 2026, the three musicians are not about managing their egos, optimizing the marketability of their output, or the general well-being of their audiences, but about abolishing hierarchies: the traditional power relations between drums, bass, and guitar are consistently abolished at Schnellertollermeier.
