More than 500 years ago, the lords of A Pro built their castle in Seedorf. After numerous trading and mercenary journeys in the south, the castle A Pro was meant to be a place of peace and relaxation for you. Homecoming instead of longing for distant lands. Even today, the castle A Pro stands for the same values. Therefore, not only does the castle feature a high-quality cuisine, but also a collection of extraordinary minerals that have traveled a millennia-long journey to the Earth's surface. The national Castle Day on October 4, 2026, is themed "Travel" and showcases short and long journeys to the surface at Schloss A Pro. The team around Peter Hummel and Asta Vaivadaite combines local and international cuisine. Historical insights into the castle's history, guided tours of Schloss A Pro, and a special exhibition at the Mineral Museum explain the fascinating journey of minerals from their formation deep within the Earth to their display in Seedorf. Urner actor Werner Biermeier will read from historical travel reports at 5:00 PM. From 10:00 AM, free visits to Schloss A Pro in Seedorf, the mineral exhibition of the Canton of Uri, and the art exhibition by Erika Gander. From 1:00 PM, free visits to the Mineral Museum of Uri in Seedorf. At 2:00 PM, guided tour with mineral supervisor Peter Amacher at Schloss A Pro. At 2:30 PM, guided tour with cultural officer Ralph Aschwanden through Schloss A Pro. At 3:30 PM, guided tour with mineral supervisor Peter Amacher at Schloss A Pro. At 5:00 PM, reading with Werner Biermeier at Schloss A Pro. The tours and the reading can be attended without prior registration.
