Starting from the building and its location, the focus of the exhibitions in the castle is on the one hand on the historical past of the castle and on the other hand on the economic history of the Oberaargau. Photos, videos, multimedia elements, and selected objects convey essential connections and tell exemplary episodes from history, close to the people of the respective time.

The Children's Castle

An exciting and adventurous paradise awaits the youngest castle visitors under the large hipped roof. An imaginative course, exciting games, audio stories, and a puzzle tour make history an adventure. Hidden climbing opportunities offer plenty of space to move, romp, and explore. Whether crafting with hands, discovering with eyes, listening with ears, or experiencing with the whole body – the Children's Castle appeals to all senses and playfully promotes creativity, curiosity, and joy of learning.

Escape Rooms

In the escape rooms of Schloss Aarwangen, you not only experience the fascination of solving puzzles but also a journey through the history of the castle and its exciting past. Locked in authentically designed rooms full of mysterious details, you immerse yourself in a captivating storyline – whether deciphering secret messages, searching for necessary aids, or solving mysterious puzzles.

Castle Café

In the entrance area of the castle, the charming Castle Café welcomes you. Here you can expect aromatic coffee from the local roastery, sweet delicacies, and refreshing drinks. Behind the castle, the idyllically located Aare Terrace invites you to linger in the evenings during the summer months from Wednesday to Sunday in good weather. After visiting an exhibition, during a bike tour, or simply for a cozy break, enjoy relaxed moments here with a view of the water and the sunset. The small, fine menu offers selected drinks – perfect for an aperitif with friends, a glass for two, or the enjoyable conclusion of a special day.
