Description
Slightly elevated above the hamlet of Dusch lies the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene. Guests are greeted on the ascent by a large Christophorus by the Waltensburger master. Inside, the same workshop has artistically depicted the life story of Mary Magdalene, which, thanks to the lighting conditions, is presented in a very special, medieval-like manner. In front of the chapel, we enjoy the view of the Domleschg and the Heinzenberg.
The culture and church guide Sidonia Kasper knows the peculiarities of the building history and painting and can tell anecdotes.
Arrival by post bus to Paspels village, then about 20 minutes on foot to Dusch. Parking spaces next to the Olgiati schoolhouse in Paspels, about 10 minutes on foot. People with limited mobility can park at the third hairpin bend of the road to Tomils and walk level to the Chapel Dusch on the Old Transerstrasse. A beautiful hiking trail, about 20 minutes.
