Description
What do ghost images tell us about our fears, our grief, and what occupies us unconsciously? In the dialogical tour through the exhibition Shadow Beings – From Ghost Photography to the Phantoms of the Algorithm, two perspectives come together: that of curator Marco De Mutiis and psychotherapist Rahel Sprecher. The exhibition spans from historical ghost photography to the algorithmic phantoms of the present. Central are ghosts and other mysterious beings appearing in both analog and digital visual worlds. Together, De Mutiis and Sprecher ask which psychological dimensions are revealed in these images. What role can ghost images play in dealing with grief and traumatic experiences? What can shadow beings tell us about unconscious fears and feelings? And what do they reveal about how we perceive ourselves and others? The tour offers a new psychological perspective on the exhibition and its shadow beings. The event is conducted in German.
