Live at the Casino with his new solo program Under the title "An Unaccompanied Solo Evening" the guitar-playing singer invites to an evening that is approachable, musically versatile, and full of personal stories. Without band, without big show – just Sascha, his guitar, and his unmistakable stage presence. And a looper. For more than three decades, the singer, guitarist, performer, and stage person has moved with great ease through the music landscapes of the region. His musical biography is characterized by versatility: he has been and is frontman of various rock formations, such as saftWerk or We Rock Queen, and has played on big stages with his band Brass Machine – even twice at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. Besides, he is a familiar face at the Capitol Mannheim: for many years, he has been part of the Capitol ensemble and has performed in various productions on the Capitol stage – The Mannheim Jungle Book, Harold & Maude, HAIR, and of course the perennial I Want It All, to name just a few. Now he is looking for new musical challenges and was – inspired by master Christof Brill – encouraged to create musical spaces with the looper that could otherwise only be filled by a whole band. Another great inspiration for the program selection was the grandmaster of looping Ed Sheeran, from whom one will surely hear more than just one song. But Sascha also plays his own songs and selected cover versions that have accompanied him for years. Well-known pieces often appear in surprisingly new garments – rhythmic, multi-voiced, atmospherically dense. The combination of voice, guitar, and looping creates a sound that seems surprisingly large and still retains its intimate, handcrafted note.
