Säntis extrême - 19th Kulturfenster 2026 - culture at Säntis

Description

Säntis, as an unpredictable weather kitchen, technical masterpiece, and deeply rooted cultural idol, shapes the region like no other. The event is entirely dedicated to this alpine primal force and offers fascinating insights behind the scenes. The program includes exciting expert lectures and reports: mountain guide Hampi Schoop describes the real bone work of mountain rescue, Daniela Mittelholzer from the St. Gallen Art Museum sheds light on the artistic view of the mountain between rock, imagination, and distant view, a technician from Säntisbahn presents the engineering art of the new construction, and Lydia Frey from the Hoher Kasten Alpine Garden explains the survival strategies of flora and fauna at the alpine limit. For musical and atmospheric accompaniment, the duo Alptraum with Clarigna Küng and Stefan Baumann, as well as the Säntiszaurer yodel choir, will perform. In addition to the program items, there is space for communal eating and personal exchange.
Registration deadline is October 28, 2026.
