Saadet Türköz is a singer with Kazakh and Turkish roots, winner of the Cultural Award of the Canton of Zurich 2026. Saadet Türköz is a Kazakh-Turkish singer, composer, and performance artist. She grew up in Istanbul as the daughter of Kazakh refugees – displaced from East Turkestan by the Chinese. She has lived in Switzerland since the 1980s. She combines improvised music and contemporary sound languages in her work. Interpretations of Turkish and Kazakh music continue to shape her performances and productions. In addition to solo performances, she appears in duos, trios, and larger formations of freely improvising (jazz) musicians both domestically and internationally.
