Description
The tour through the Museum House C.G. Jung introduces visitors to the working and family life of Carl Gustav and Emma Jung-Rauschenbach as well as their children. Representative rooms, library, and study rooms as well as private rooms not only provide insight into the sphere of influence of the couple, but also tell of the family's preferences, interests, leisure activities, and generally about the living conditions of that time.
The lower floor is primarily dedicated to the everyday life of the Jung family. Here, time was spent together with the children, and the usual daily routine took place in these rooms. Meals were taken in the large dining room, coffee was served in the salon, people played together, conversed, and C.G. Jung received his guests from all over the world with a view of the lake. The veranda offers a view of the well-maintained ornamental and landscape garden, and souvenirs recall Jung's distant travels and expeditions.
The upper floor houses the work and study rooms. C.G. Jung's extensive library is presented untouched in its original condition. It is a testament to the scholar's extraordinary erudition and his broad and profound research interests. The entire book collection of the library is owned by the Foundation of the Works of C.G. Jung, Zurich, and is preserved and managed by it. The waiting room for Jung's private clients could be largely reconstructed. Here he received his patients and led them into the adjacent study room. This cabinet is also authentically preserved, showing C.G. Jung's desk as if he had just left it for a short moment.
