RUEGO & FRIENDS – RECORD RELEASE «Y» HIPHOP CONNECTED. On October 30th, the Chollerhalle will become a meeting point for hip-hop fans: Ruego will debut his album «Y» and, together with Ruego & Friends – HipHop Connected, will present an evening that combines depth, skills, wordplay, and live energy. The rapper from the canton of Zug stands for dialect rap with attitude. His lyrics address politics, society, nature, family, and personal contradictions – reflective, vivid, and without a moralizing tone. At the same time, Ruego proves that sophisticated rap doesn't have to be dry: irony, humor, multi-layered rhymes, and powerful beats are also part of his sound. The album «Y» was produced at Lantarius Records. DJ Eff significantly shaped the sound of the album as a producer and will also support Ruego live as a DJ on this evening. With his latest single «Z-U-G», Ruego has dedicated a personal yet critical love letter to his hometown. The song has received great resonance in the Zug area and exemplifies what his music stands for: local connection, honest observations, and rap with substance. However, the record release of «Y» is more than just a look back at the album. Ruego will also present new, previously unreleased songs and intentionally open the stage to different facets of hip-hop culture. Participating are Un1t, Flöggi Westside, Chilli, E. S. I. K., and Vas Angelov. Un1t performs as a complete crew: Tony Castle, B. O. M., BIG-N, RockyMc, and Swish bring different voices and styles to the same stage. With Tony Castle, who was featured at both the Openair Frauenfeld and Bounce Cypher in 2026, the crew also brings current festival and cypher energy. Flöggi Westside represents another strong facet of the Swiss scene and was also part of the Bounce Cypher in 2026. Chilli combines technically precise bars and double-time passages with hooks that stick. Rap for people who want to hear skills – clean rapped, fast, direct, and still musical. E. S. I. K. adds a different color: technically skilled but more focused on social and political observations. Rap as a voice – critical, direct, and with attitude. And then there's Vas Angelov: an MC with international experience, who toured with Busta Rhymes as a teenager and has built a network far beyond the Swiss scene over the years. Technically uncompromising, highly versatile, and a rapper to whom you can literally lay any beat – when the mic is in his hand, the stage belongs to him. This creates not an ordinary opening act, but an evening where different generations, regions, and styles of rap come together. And HipHop Connected is meant literally: in selected open-mic timeslots, the stage also belongs to the community. Mic on, beat playing – and whoever has something to say gets their moment.
