«Stay rude, stay rebel», the rallying cry of the Ska scene. It is globally connected, clearly anti-racist, tolerant, authentic, and what unites it is the great love for the original Jamaican Ska of the 60s, from which the beautiful Rocksteady and later Reggae developed. Whether traditional Ska, Ska-Punk, Ska-Core, or Two Tone, around the turn of the millennium there were not only countless styles of this music but also countless Ska bands and Ska nights. The scene has now shrunk healthily – some bands have remained, new ones have joined, and the rallying cry remains the same. So, Rude Boys, Rude Girls, and everyone in between, «get up on your feet! Put your braces together and your boots on your feet. And give me some of that oooooold moonstomping!». Open Season is the band you know at least three songs from without realizing it. They wrote the unofficial European Championship 2016 song, which later in a new edition became the official song of the football club Berner Young Boys. Now, the rocksteady institution is opening a new era. For their new album, the band collaborates with Dr. Mo and releases contemporary songs that create beautiful moments in difficult times. Anthems of connection, pumping beats for self-forgetful hours on the dancefloor, shimmering tracks with positive energy. Live, the band is better than ever. Open Season brings a power to the stage that has developed over many years in many clubs and countries. The band has been supported by women since 2000 and has always brought diverse identities to the stage. They are the crowd-pullers at every festival they perform at, with surprises nobody expected. Yes, you are right. It is a typical human trait to form clubs to make contacts and pursue useful activities together, like smoking cigars, reading newspapers, or mowing the lawn. You never know... But a great club is definitely France's best Two Tone club. Founded in 1999 by former members of the Gangsters All Stars, the club has its roots in Ska and Reggae with driving beats and has been unstoppable in its mission for Jamaican music ever since. The BB House Band started as the house band at the popular Party Jam at Bruch Brothers in Lucerne. Building on this success, they began performing across Switzerland and France five years ago. The Rude & Rebel Ska Fest takes place at the Schüür in Lucerne and celebrates the diversity of Ska music. The event unites fans and bands who celebrate the roots of Jamaican Ska of the 60s.
