Description

Root Area play "Soul Jazz" in the best sense. Whether slow blues, New Orleans funk, gospel ballad, or hot grooves – the music of Root Area is deeply connected to the roots of jazz and brings them into the present. After Root Area has already released several CDs with compositions from all four band members, the focus of this Carte Blanche evening is on the new original compositions by Elmar Frey. His writing style is strongly influenced by rhythm, groove, and colorful melodies, and through Nicole Johänntgen, Christoph Grab, and Marcel Thomi, it develops a thick band sound and an incredibly captivating energy.
