Revizor (1836) is a satirical comedy by the Russian prose writer and dramatist N. V. Gogol (1809 − 1852), considered one of the most famous works of world dramatic literature. Through his play, which captures the stupidity, ignorance, and corruption of officials in a system riddled with corruption and various other vices, the author holds up a mirror to all whose character is distorted by servility and bribery. Therefore, it remains relevant to this day.
