Description

The disappearance of childhood in Bruno Schulz's book "The Cinnamon Shops" is a powerful theme. The father, who transforms into a bird and then into other things before disappearing, is a metamorphosis that can only be represented with puppets. The idea that there is someone inside all things is, of course, brilliant for puppet theater. The narrator's longing to keep everything as it was, but to endure the new world, is a theme that will always occupy us. The German-Polish ensemble manages this staging to be atmospherically dense, told with enchanting characters and fantastic puppet manipulation. Accompanied by live music.
